The heat is not going to abate anytime soon as the sun is in a maximum energy phase so each summer will be hotter than the last and the infrastructure isn’t there yet to make it tolerable.
We went to Rome over Christmas break and highly recommend it. Their winter weather is fairly mild and perfect for sightseeing.

Yeah definitely considering alternate destinations and Switzerland is up there, but so expensive! Has anyone been to the baltics? Wouldn’t mind tacking on a few days at a beach too- is it any colder than say, cape cod?
