Some girls (and we are talking about children here) come into their own in high school, some in grad school. Some want intense high schools, some don’t. Some want schools in Potomac, some in DC.
All of these children will be successful!
And thinking they will have wildly different life trajectory’s is laughable. Just because an 8th grader doesn’t choose a “top” LOCAL high school, does not mean they will not amount to anything.
The “big 3” are NOT the same as St Paul’s, Exeter, Groton, Eton, Hotchkiss, Andover, and St George’s

Snobby about what? Attending a 4th tier school with mediocre college admissions results?
There admissions are pretty good actually:

You and I must have a different definition of “pretty good.” The highest ranked schools I saw were the University of Michigan, UVA and Georgetown (about 1 admit per school). I didn’t see a single Ivy, or even a top 20 university.
That’s pretty mediocre in my world.
I'd be more than happy if my kid got into one of those schools. Well, at least they are better looking than you.
Lol—you sound silly. I graduated from one of the aforementioned schools.
Of course, UofM, UVA, and Georgetown are great universities. However, at least a handful of Holy Child’s students should be heading to higher ranked universities on an annual basis—if you’re going to be snobby.
There are other things to be snobby about...namely your good looks and family wealth. These girls don't need to go to top schools to be successful. That's for the strivers of the world.
So what happens when a Holy Child student crosses paths with her superior? That would be an equally good looking and wealthy Sidwell, GDS, NCS, Holton (1st tier), Stoneridge, Visitation, Maret (2nd tier), or Bullis (3rd tier) student?
Answer: She should drop the pretense or risk getting her feelings hurt.
Their life trajectories are going to be entirely different. My NCS daughter and friends will end up being Big law associates and medical residents. They'll work really hard and some will end up being very successful and wealthy. The Holy Child girls will end up marrying commercial real estate or finance guys and end up being very wealthy. There is very little cross over between the two worlds (a tiny handful of NCS girls who are in this Holy Child world and of course they are the popular NCS girls). There are some STA or Sidwell boys who want the NCS girl but many (most?) want the HC girl. Can you blame them?--they are beautiful, fun, etc. For what it's worth, I have the intellectual NCS type so I am not glorifying this phenomenon, just reporting on it.
Sorry to hear about your NCS daughter’s plight. My beautiful AND brilliant daughter attends one of the Tier 1 schools listed above, and she has no shortage of male attention and dates.
I would feel bad for any Holy Child student who tried to act snobby around her—lol.
But is she rich? You must be beautiful and wealthy enough to be happy and fun loving all of the time. Holy Crows prides itself on its students having a “fun”
High school experience. So they have beautiful, fun-filled, happy girls.
Yes, we’re rich too. Full pay at a Big 3 (we have family wealth, but we don’t need help paying our children’s tuition).
My daughter is happy and has a great personality, but she’s not “fun loving all the time.” She’s studious and serious when the time calls—that’s why she attends a Big 3.
Trust me, you don’t have to be an empty-headed “good time girl” to attract male attention. Based on my daughter’s many suitors, beauty, brains (and wealth according to you) are certainly enough. And honestly, my daughter isn’t super nice to these boys. Not mean, just not willing to bend over backwards for them. She told me if one acts up, there’s always another one ready to take his place.

It's a tale as old as time. These guys are smart, good looking, charismatic, wealthy---they will end up being very successful.
They are programmed to want attractive girlfriends who are cut from a certain cloth. They're not dating the NCS girls (much to my NCS daughter's chagrin). They want the Holy Child girls (smart enough and very attractive).
Lol—ok Holy Child mom.
Btw, are you referring to the girls on the linked Instagram page? While a small handful are reasonably attractive, none of those girls are model material. Let’s be real.
No, not a HC mom.
And really? You're looking at a high school Instagram page and saying that girls are not attractive?
I can tell you that it's not unusual for "popular" boys from other schools to date girls from HC.
You’re demonstrating that reading really is fundamental. I did not say that none of the girls are attractive. I said, “While a small handful are reasonably attractive, none of those girls are model material.” I firmly stand behind that statement.
You’re making such a “to do” about how beautiful Holy Child students are, and I’m telling you that I expected an Instagram page full of model level (or at least pageant/actress level) beauties. That’s not what I found. Those are regular looking girls (wearing makeup).
“I can tell you that it's not unusual for "popular" boys from other schools to date girls from HC.” We probably define “date” differently.
Ok, I am bowing out. You are a bitter, middle aged woman. I hope you are not raising a girl.
I said "beautiful" once in my post. I did not make a "to do".
I have actually never looked at the HC instagram page. I have a met a few HC girls in real life. I thought they were lovely. Apparently my standard for teenage female beauty is lower than yours.
What I can report back (again) is that the HC girls are popular dates (for Homecoming, as girlfriends, etc) among boys from other schools. This I can say without question.
And really cool of you to say that we define "dating" differently. Implying of course that the HC girls are easy and the kids are just messing around. WAY TO GO MOM. KEEP IT CLASSY.![]()
You are pathetic.
I'm bowing out of this post.

Yup, HC is known hands down for having the best looking and most put together girls. Perfect wife material. Men don’t need a brain surgeon who went to NCS as a wife.
