We did the Conrad with room service a couple years ago and it was very nice. Have also done the same at Ritz Carlton Tyson’s

I don't know about breakfast buffets... but if I were looking for a romantic night in DC I'd look at The Jefferson, The Hay Adams, The Willard (had afternoon tea there last weekend and the hotel is beautiful), and The Four Seasons in Georgetown.

+1 this. Absolutely breathtaking property in a historic area. The winery was founded by the woman that is considered the founder of the modern Virginia wine industry and who began the Virginia Wine Festival. Great meritage and sparkling.

I am now looking for recommendation for nice DC hotels with great breakfast buffet in the morning. Thanks

I don’t know hotels with buffets but I can recommend staying at the Line and getting c breakfast at the in house restaurant or staying at the Pendry and getting breakfast somewhere on the Wharf

4 seasons. If the hotel is the destination, it’s worth it.

Bed and Breakfast in harpers ferry. First time we left the kids this is where we went. It was close enough that I wasn't worried, beautiful hikes; but not so much to do that we didn't mind staying in bed a lot

OP here, indeed this looks lovely and is probably my front runner so far

I'm one of the PPs who recommended Nemacolin. If you can stretch your drive time a bit further, I'd also recommend you look at Primland in southern VA - I liked it even more than Nemacolin, but it's more like 5 hours.

I really enjoyed the jeep/off road tours at both places!

Why not just do a nice hotel in DC?
