So there are at least two dummies in this thread.Anonymous wrote:Just get the free salad and breadsticks

So 2 adults and 2 kids would be $54 plus tax and tip. So maybe $70.
Don’t spend money on soda or alcohol.
If you’re on a budget share an entree.
$34 plus tax and tip. They have free salad and breadsticks.
This is not realistic. Most people when they go out want to have drinks. So even if you don't get alcoholic drinks it is:
19.49 for one adult meal
19.49 for another adult meal
6.99 if you have one kid under 12
6.99 if you have another kid under 12
3.49 x 4 for nonalcoholic drinks
So even if you get nothing else that is $66.92
Plus 6% tax is 4 dollars more so you get to $70.
Twenty percent tip on that brings you to $84
That is if you don't order appetizers, alcoholic drinks, or desserts and you have two kids under 12
Most people do so are easily going to spend $100.
I just don't think it is worth it to eat out anymore at most places. Many of the big chain restaurants are afraid of people getting food poisoning so they precook the food then it gets shipped to their restaurants, then it is warmed up at the local restaurant and served.
My husband goes to the butcher and buys a nice cut of meat and grills it up to go with sides I make. Or I get a take to bake meal at Costco or somewhere else. So much cheaper and better quality.

Judging by how mobbed the food court and restaurants were at lunchtime at Montgomery Mall today that’s probably never going to happen.

This.
I mean, I'm glad wages went up, but yeah, you can't expect prices to remain the same when they do.
Wrong. Servers are not making $15 an hour. This money didn’t go to wages, it went to the record corporate profits they’re all logging. BILLIONS of dollars transferred into the hands of the wealthy thanks to CoVID while regular people got poorer.
