I would like to do 2 days a week but she also does other things - soccer, an afterschool club or two, Girl Scouts.

Another parent from our summer team offhandedly mentioned that doing club one day a week isn't worth it. Is that truly the case at her age?

My six year old also loved summer swim, but she did club the prior school year 2 days a week and enjoyed it. And yes, I did start my child in club swim at barely 6 years old. She has an 8 year old brother (now 9) who does club, and since I was already bringing him, why not.

AAC (Arlington) has mini gators, which is once a week for ages 6-9. It’s not that expensive for club swimming & keeps kids in the water year-round.

Club teams helps kids improve by attending practices. The more practice, the more you improve. Doing something once a week doesn’t help you improve that much. Club swim is $$$. You will see the improvement. Also, club swim is deferent than summer swimming. The fun, themes, etc is much different. It’s just swimming.
