The baked ziti poster makes me almost as happy as the one whose despises baked ziti.

Marinated cheese from southern living
Miso glazed salmon or grilled chicken with balsamic apricot glaze
Roasted asparagus or green beans
Rice or roasted potatoes
Watermelon and feta salad
Key lime pie

My guests swoon over this!

Depending on dietary restrictions or preferences, I like:

- Grilled whole king salmon fillet, grilled vegetables (asparagus or a mixed zucchini / bell pepper / onion medley), rice or a small pasta like orzo with lemon and herbs. Or roasted if weather is not conducive to grilling. Add a seasonal salad and a couple of appetizers.

- Marinated flank steak, mashed potatoes, roasted brussels sprouts, and a steakhouse salad. Side basket of rosemary bread.

- Grilled assortment of marinated chicken kabobs, cilantro-lime shrimp skewers, grilled tomato halves, grilled vegetables, flatbread. Start with a veggie tray, pita chips, tzaziki and hummus.

Get takeout and put it on fancy plates.
Boom. Done.

I would ask for dietary preferences and make something that works.

If in the summer, can't go wrong with steaks and scallops. I would either sous vide and finish in the pan or grill the steaks.

I would buy baklava for dessert and if I could find some other theme-appropriate desserts would provide an assortment.

This is a really good, cohesive, menu. You could add other meats as well, if desired.

BreAd, RiCe AND PoTatOes I would be so lethargic

There’s literally a dozen options. It’s on you to make good choices.

Grilled teriyaki chicken, cold cucumber salad, Asian noodle salad, fruit and ice cream
Seafood paella, olives and Spanish cheeses and cured meats, crisp salad, tres leches cake
Shish kebabs with vegetables and chicken, couscous, tomato cucumber feta salad, baklava
Grilled fish, roasted vegetables, pie with ice cream

These all sound amazing!

If this is in the summer, and assuming no allergies, I’d serve seafood. Scallops or shrimp in lemon/garlic/white wine over linguine. Or grilled mahi with something like mango salsa.

This sort of complaint, I’ll never understand. If they don’t work for you, don’t eat them. There are plenty of other things you could eat instead.

I’ll happily eat all the pita, pilaf, and potatoes.

No requirement to partake of all three.
