I started a thread like this a couple years ago. Eventually I did find a decent business idea. But now I have nothing to show for it.

PPs are right. Just invest it.

It seems like about 75% of the responses are from people who know nothing about the businesses they’re recommending. So maybe look elsewhere for advice? There’s no franchise you’re going to find for $50,000 and the only person that makes money on a franchise is the HQ, not the franchisees.

OP, you sound like you're looking for some magic box that lets you put money in and automatically get more money out. That is not how the world (or businesses) work.

Do you know how to write a business plan? Do you even know what a business plan is? Do you know anything about the potential market for various business types, or the existing competition among types?

It's a daydream to think you can start with no experience, use $50,000 to open "a business" and have it net you more than traditional investments would. Come back to reality and buy some bonds.

I'd do cat cafe with good food and coffee/drinks or a doggie daycare with a little pet boutique attached.

Hello, I launched a business two years ago and it's been wildly successful. I also had over ten years of experience in my industry (staffing) as well as a huge network. My startup costs were nowhere near 50k

This is OP. I am not lazy. I just enjoy sleeping, eating and traveling the most of all of the things I do. Other non-enjoyable things I do on a daily basis are working, cooking, cleaning and exercising.

I was just thinking an app that would automatically fill out every camp form and school form with the information you put in once. Not sure how to sell it to camps but as a parent I’d pay to not do this 19474928474 times for each child each freaking summer. If the parent bought the app surely with AI it could fill it out?!
