Did you bring it up to MCPS administrators? or where ever you teach?

Well hopefully this is like the Derecho, terrible but clears out a whole bunch of fuel and creates large fire breaks so it won’t happen again for a long time.

Do you use Febreez or other plug ins, at home or in your car? They kill your sense of smell.

Particulate matter can be highly localized and move rapidly with the breeze. So if you weren't in PP's exact spot at the same time, you might have been in a pocket with fewer particulates.

Air pollution is one of the things that shorten people's lives, and/or makes the last decade of their life really uncomfortable.
You may not realize it, but multiple studies have shown this is true. Just like cigarette smoke that impacts your risk of cancers and heart disease, so does particulate pollution and ozone pollution.

When the air quality is code red or worse it’s reasonable to move to indoor activities. A lot of little kids have asthma and shouldn’t be out in poor air quality anyway.
I do smell the smoke today but it doesn’t seem that bad in terms of the air quality compared to earlier this month.
