OP, I hope you follow all the advice that’s been given to you. As a mom of teenage daughters, my heart hurts on how you (and other teen girls) am have been conditioned to care more about a potential abusers feelings than your own safety. This is, of course, NOT your fault, and I know millions of other young women have been taught the same. But your happiness and safety matters. I hope you find yourself in a healthy relationship in college - but don’t be afraid to just focus on platonic relationships at first. Good luck. Hoping the breakup goes smoothly and that you have a fantastic first semester at college. Break up with this guy asap and don’t look back. If he doesn’t take it well, stalks you or makes you feel unsafe, connect with trusted adults (and don’t let anyone blow you off for overreacting).

A Phone call in this situation is good. Feel free to hold off until you are about to go on vacation to give it some space. Just be busy and boring until you are able to do it.

In this situation, over the phone is fine, because he has an anger issue. In the future, you'll pick better and when you want to break up with a normal guy you'll want to do it in person, but IN PUBLIC.

Keep it brief on the phone, don't offer many reasons why (he'll argue with them), and be prepared to get called horrible names that are not true. Three month relationship? The call needs to be no more than three minutes. You can ask a parent to yell for you at the three minute mark so he hears that and you can say "My mom is calling me - I gotta go."
