My kid was also in the tween/junior CIT program and HATED it.

My girls 7, 11 have both loved their MoCo Summer Fun Center camp at the Upper County Rec Center, which is a huge relief as there are no reviews anywhere it seems. The staff is very friendly and engaged. They know the girls' names and pulled me aside when my very sensitive daughter had a disagreement with another camper, which made me feel like they're involved and caring. They're now going swimming once a week at the pool next door. My daughter also does am swim team practice and she can drop in and out with no issues. We will definitely try to do this camp again next summer.

Kid + friend have done multiple city of Rockville camps. Each camp is 1 group of kids and they’ve all been low key and pretty good. My kid disliked one camp which the friend loved. I think this was more a mismatch of kid to camp than an issue with the camp. (Camp was all outdoors. Kid does not do well in the heat.)

No, the preschool is year round so it's kids in regular school. But we had only an OK experience, the preschool was much better.

Can only speak for middle school aged kids, but loving the classes at Montgomery College Youth Program for 2nd year in a row. Great, engaged instructors. My phone addicted teen said he forgot to play Clash of Clans for an entire day -- which never once happened at middle school.

I’m glad to her this! My kid just completed the middle
school study skills class and really liked it — was thinking we might check out some of the camps next year.

One thing that is not clear from their website is that if your kid takes one class from 9-12 and another from 1-4, that someone will make sure your kid gets to the cafeteria for lunch, and then gets to the next building for their second class. Super helpful for working parents.

Rising 9th grader just returned from JMU Marching Band camp with nothing but good things to say. The show that the marching band, drum line, and color guards put on after just 4.5 days was incredible.

Kid doing the $445 for the entire 10 week summer from 9-6 summer recreation program in the City of Alexandria and LOVE it.

We had a really good experience at Summer Horizons at National Presbyterian School the last two years. It’s a great camp for really little kids. They take great care of the 3-5 year olds. Lots of counselors, so great camper/adult ratio. Lots of arts and crafts and my little one loved the water play. We did the optional swimming one session last year and I would recommend skipping that. My kids were having so much fun at camp they didn’t want to break the flow by going over to the swimming pool. Probably best for kids up to Rising 4th. My rising 5th wanted more specialty camps this summer.

Summer at Potomac?

Meadowbrook Stables - great horseback riding camp. DD is loving it again this summer, it's her 5th year there.

My kids did Bretton Woods and were happy there. All day outside and the weather kind of sucked the week they went but camp carried on as usual. The best part - they provide the lunch and snacks!

The camp with the best reviews this summer was Orange Line Basketball. They loved it.

Ice skating camp at MedStar and Dynamic Gymnastics camp also got good reviews.
