Can you imagine the drama when kids who are not on a relay this upcoming week are now faster than kids on that relay All Star relay week…with the one swimmer substitution allowance it is going to cause a lot of issues on many teams
There should not be any drama or issues here. The team that qualified should be the team that goes to All-Stars. Full stop. The sub should be used only if one of those kids can't attend. Totally irrelevant if the ladder changes later on.
I don’t disagree but the two week gap is just bad. This whole season is bad where you are having A meets before the school year is over. Move All Stars back a week to the first weekend in August. It isn’t a team event anyway so families can choose to do it or not without impacting their team
Team reps were surveyed and they preferred to not go into August.
Team Reps and Head Coaches do not like this schedule at all.

It does interfere with Beach week.
You could get a breather as All Stars is not a team scoring event. It is really hard on teachers to also coach to be doing both at the same time before the school year ends...easier to have a shorter break on the tail end then be juggling both up front and the NVSL took the poll and made the move prior to FCPS extending the school year by an extra week.
So the summer swim schedule should be based around teachers’ schedules (people who have the entire summer off)?
A LOT of the team Reps are TEACHERS...who volunteer all summer because they have the ability to do so....and it is a year round gig we do for free BTW
