Balance bike at 3. Woom bike at 6

Growing up the neighborhood group of kids taught every younger kid right at the start of the summer before kindergarten. I did that with my kids too for the memories!

Age 8. 3 weeks. No pedals on a gentle slope parking lot. Then when could balance with no feet on the ground, DC added pedal. Then it was complete.

3.5 years for pedal bike.

But didn't get confident at swimming until 8.

Both kids learned at the age of 6. One had just finished Kindergarten and the other has a summer birthday and learned after 1st grade (just before turning 7).

Never. She also hated the balance bike.

4 year old in 2 minutes

6, 4, and 4. We used this bike for all 3. They'd learned to balance first, then I put the pedal on.
It took a week.

8 and 12. Four hours. 1 hour per day four days in a row with someone I hired. So worth the money. This was during the pandemic and I realized OMG they don't know how to ride a bike.

Kids were 3, almost 4, but I do think it’s fine to take it slow and not rush things if your kid isn’t pushing for it. There is a lot of focus on getting kids to ride early, I think because people are impressed when their children can do things early, but it can be a little scary having a three-year-old who can ride a bike. It depends on your child’s maturity level, but they get going pretty fast and you’ll wanna make sure you’re in a very safe area for riding!

7. Plenty of time during the summer of 2020.

In terms of two-wheels and pedaling, both my 7yo (training wheels) and 4yo (balance bike) within a few days of each other in March 2020.
