What kind of serious infection lives on bathing suits?

Because you specify "public pool" it feels like a troll attempt, but please do explain if not.

I mean, we have 3-5 suits in rotation for each kid. For us, it's like school uniform polos?

I hand wash swimsuits right after DCs daily practice, with light detergent in sink then gently rinse, wrap in towel to absorb more water then hang to dry for the next day. I used to laundry swimsuit in laundry wash bag but 2 jammers totally lost elastic and broke to pieces and a one piece lost elastic at the front. For towels I just laundry daily.

+2 same for me

Yep this. We always shower after swimming, at the very least a rinse to get off the chlorine. So the suits are stripped off and rinsed under the shower water generally as it's heating up. Each kid does their own this way and then they dry on an outdoor clothesline if it's sunny or a rack in the basement if it's night or raining. Towels get hung to dry same way as soon as we're home from the pool and washed whenever in the week we're doing other non delicate wash. Suits get washed in a lingerie bag whenever in the week we do a delicate load of wash.

I rise off the chlorine/salt water after each use (in the shower or the sink, whatever’s easier) then hang dry. We all have two suits so we alternate days. All the suits go in the wash at the end of the week. So, max four wears, generally.

That’s what I do with a little hand wash detergent and hang in the bathroom to dry. Everyone has multiple swimsuits in case I forget. To me putting on an unwashed swimsuit is like putting on yesterdays underwear. Not very sanitary.

Yes, wash regularly or at least daily rinse and dry.

I wash DDs suits after every wear, but I don’t run a special load or anything. They just get washed whenever I do laundry. She swims year round and has more than enough suits o there’s no rush.

Yes I do. Public pools are filthy and lakes have a lot of bacteria and microbes. My kids have 3 swimsuits each so it isn’t an issue. After they wear one, it goes to the laundry

No. Hang dry. We have a pool and we’re in in year round. Wash maybe every few weeks.

I wash swimsuits every time they come off. It's a quick wash on the delicate cycle on low soil so it takes maybe 20 minutes? But we have lots of swimsuits so it's not like I'm doing just a single one.

If we go to the beach, they get sand on them, and no one wants to put that back on. If we go to the pool, they smell like chlorine and it makes the colors fade faster if you leave it on. It's not a big deal to throw it in the machine and then hang it up and then it's dry for the next time.

We also have lots of suits because we spend a lot of time in the water.
