We buy a Christmas tree ornament from wherever we go, not specifically European. It’s nice to reminisce when we decorate the tree.

Ireland - we got a beautiful set of wool blankets to use on the Adirondack chairs around our fire pit. Worth every penny.

I try to buy a piece of handmade jewelry from each place I visit. And also something by a local artist: ceramics, painting, sculpture, interesting fabric and such.

I love getting unique clothes from Desigual when in Spain. I used to get fridge magnets from each country but that started to take up space. Now I like to take a sugar packet or two from cafes so that I can remember my trip the next few weeks when I am back at my home drinking coffee.

If I see something really cool and unique that I love I will buy it, but I am never on a mission to buy something as a souvenir.
Only exception is that I do try to buy a Christmas Ornament on each big vacation.

Oh my goodness--maja soap brings me back! My mother always bought some when we were on vacation in Spain. Badedas as well, although that is more widely available outside Spain.

I tend to buy ceramic tiles, linen hand towels, pretty salt and pepper cellars, Christmas tree ornaments, and my favorite kitchen items, like balsamic, sea salt, etc.

Bags of colorful pasta in different shapes from Italy - it's so stupid, but the kids get such a kick out of it. Fun to bring as a gift, or keep and dig it out in winter for a fun vacation reminder. Leather sandals and spices from Spain. Salt from Mallorca.

Reusable bags from grocery stores (they have some very large and sturdy ones)
