Yes. This sucks. My insurance used to cover Mounjaro for obesity. Now, they will not cover it until you have tried either Saxenda or Wegovy first. I have lost 50 pounds on Mounjaro with diet and exercise. Now, I can't get either of the two other medications or coverage for the Mounjaro that has been working well for me nor can I get the two that would be covered. It seems completely unfair to require drugs that are on the shortage list before covering others that are available.

Yeah you have absolutely no idea how some people's brains are wired. Be thankful you don't have the food noise or food addiction, among other things. These medications for people like me are literally life changing. It's like starting meds as an adult for my ADHD. Also life changing and eye opening. Like "this is what "normal" people feel"?

For weight loss?

You may want to consider talking to your MD about a medication switch. In my online sUpport groUp, many people are switching to Saxanda. And some are reporting that their pHarmacies are not expecting shipments of low doses until as late as December.

What are you supposed to tell someone with an A1C of 12 and fasting glucose of 250? Wait on this life-saving medication?

If someone has an A1C of 12 they need to be evaluated for type I diabetes and should not take WeGovy.

Why would Wagovy be an option?
Ozempic is for diabetics and Wagovy is for weight loss.

Then I called a CVS in Westminster, MD, and asked them to do a 20-mile radius search. They found a Target in Ellicott City (the pharmacy is run by CVS) and they had two packages of 0.5 I called them and got one of the two packages they had This was at 5:30p on 6/19. Sooo the other might be gone by now, but it's worth a check.

CVS's can do a 20-mile radius search of other CVS's.

this is insanity!!!f!

Imagine being a diabetic and trying to find ozempic or Mounjaro. I’m so tired of all the soccer moms and their need for this medicine to lose 10 pounds. Please save us for people with pcos, real obesity, and diabetes

Wegovy is the same medication as Ozempic. Diabetics are victims of the drug co, not of people trying to loose weight.
Again, Wegovy is for weight loss.
Ozempic is for diabetes.
Let’s get these drug names correct.
