Oh the drama! You know obesity is the #1 risk factor for death. Noting more harmful than obesity. Especially a 15 year old!
The OP is a good mother and is doing the right thing to save her daughters life.
Oy gevalt, nothing is more harmful than obesity?!?
Tell that to the bipolar disorder that killed my brother. Tell that to the cancer that killed my husband’s brother. Tell that to the heroin that killed my DSD’s best friend. Tell that to speeding that killed our neighbor’s teenager. Tell that to the gun and abusive ex who killed my best friend’s sister.
Me, I’m just a fat 51 year old who has outlived all of them.

They have tried dieting and psyc eating disorder treatment for over 6 months including residential and nothing has worked. We are interested in seeking wegovy as it is approved but can't find a doctor who will prescribe to teen. Help appreciated

I really hope you don’t do this to your son. You’re setting him up for a lifetime of misery. Put him in sports. Do you know you can’t stop these meds once you start or the weight returns.

Saxenda is a daily injection but the needles are small and don’t hurt - it may take longer to see significant weight loss and the daily regimen may feel cumbersome.
A poor analogy is Saxenda is a 2015 Camry, dependable and gets the job done, and Wegovy is the fast, flashy 2024 BMW.
Mounjaro is the 2024 BMW. Ozempic is more like the Camry—but maybe a 2019. Saxenda is like a 2005 Focus.
