I was just wondering the same thing. Chuck Bell keeps saying code red, but Arlingtonalert says code purple.


We have a pocket of really bad air heading south because of the wind. AQI may get into the hazardous range for some. Doesn't matter if you have a Code Red, Purple, Maroon, or whatever. Stay indoors.

Good news is that this will be gone by Saturday.

I’m outside of Baltimore and we were 350ish this morning. Definitely not going for a run like one PP….

Use your Apple/phone app, way more reliable than weather.com (which relies on ads)

That cannot possibly be right, PP. The entire DC region is at more than 201 (code red), with a small pocket at 313 between Alexandria and Springfield (code maroon). 166 is underestimated by a 100 points.

Where I am in Bethesda my iPhone weather app says 273.
