I'm surprised you're cool with absolutely no accountability to public funds.
I'll keep this in mind during the next hand-wringing thread about giving schools more money for student items.

What a stupid response. Did you not read that they can not do this? I wouldn't tolerate this for 2 seconds and would be in the supers office. My kid with sns has to have a computer to work and the first one they gave him had visible damage and would take 15 minutes 2 start and died regularly. I walked it back to the office and he had a new functioning one the next day.

Just respond with an email that it stopped working and he physically returned it on X date. And of course return the new one they gave you too. It was probably just a problem that it didn’t get checked in properly.
What does this mean? Our school recently sent out a list of charges for missing keys, damage to screen, Chromebook not working, etc. MCPS must still be charging. Otherwise where would our school administration have gotten this list?

You mean now. Covid has not ended.

It is just equipment failure ( not responsive/can’t be turned on) not due to negligence or intentional destruction.
How do we appeal this?
why should county taxpayers pay for something that you caused in your house? 150 sounds more than reasonable.
He didn’t do anything that caused the chrome book to stop working. It just happened to be in our house when it reached the end of life.
The new Chromebook reached the end of its life in mere months? My kids have had theirs since August of 21.
