Subject: Sleepovers
My DS1 was 8 when he had his first sleepover and has done several since (he's still 8) but only with one family who we know well and trust. DS2 is 6 and has not yet had a sleepover with a friend. I don't think we would be comfortable until 8ish.

I wouldn't let my kids go to a sleepover if they need help in the bathroom, and I don't want to help anyone else's kid in the bathroom.
Same. I didn’t let my nephew sleep over with his older brother until he was night trained. No, changing a 4 year old’s diaper in the morning is not “no big deal.” If he could handle it on his own, cool, but I’m not wiping butts unless it’s an emergency.
It really isn’t a big deal. It’s a lot better than them wetting the bed and having to wash everything. I’ve watched older kids who still need them and I’m thankful they have them available.
Older kids wear pull ups and can handle them and change them by themselves. A diaper is totally different and requires an adult to help get it on. Wtf?
Use whatever works best for your child. I’ve seen kids who use both. Not a big deal either way.
Right, but when talking about sleepovers, the question is self sufficiency. If a kid can manage their own diaper, then NBD. But a child old enough to sleep over someone else’s house is too old to have a non-parent helping them with undergarments.

Never except with cousins at age 7. My son isn't a great sleeper, but needs a lot of sleep so would be a wreck at someone else's house. At my sister's house he is comfortable enough and she knows him well enough to put him to bed in his own room with his own stuff at an early hour and its not a big deal. With friends thats just not the case and he's not ready for it yet. Maybe next year.

Other kid is now 8 and I've avoided friend sleepovers because she is a mess if she is up late, and even she knows it.

Are you the poster who thinks diapers and pull ups are the same? I remember you. Everyone but you seems to understand that they are different. Diapers have tape and require adult assistance and are generally for babies and toddlers (excluding special needs). Pull ups are like underwear because you can easily pull them up and down yourself. They are more appropriate for older kids.
Diapers are just absorbent undergarments for bodily waste. It doesn’t matter if they have tape or pins or fasten in another way. They can be make of different types of material and look different but they are serving the same purpose.

So many big kids now use overnight pull-ups and it’s not something that I think should prevent them from participating in sleepovers and other social activities.
There are multiple people here, so I bolded my earlier statement. I don't care if a kid wears a pullup or a car battery to my house - I just won't let them sleep over if they need help in the bathroom. And I won't let my kids sleep over anywhere until they're fully toilet trained. I won't put that on another parent.
