Anyway, there ARE laws regulating cannabis use in DC, so the OP and others here are engaging in disinformation. https://drugfreeyouthdc.com/dc-laws/marijuana/#:~:text=It's%20illegal%20to%20consume%20marijuana,jail%20or%20a%20%24500%20fine.

How do you justify picking and choosing which laws you obeyed as a prosecutor?

If the smell is the problem, maybe someone can invent a weed that smells nice when smoked? It shouldn’t be that hard.

Because your discomfort isn't worth the police and justice system resources to enforce. Nobody said you had to like it, just deal with it.

You do realize that this attitude is why DC is going to sh*t right. So for you zero middle ground? No way to comprehend the difference between being ok with legalizing marijuana and not being ok with high zombies wondering around or driving around at 8 am, which is what i observe on my walk to work every morning?

Nice try but no cigar. Or should I say, no joint.

What happened to that same train of thought, but for weed this time?

You're not allowed to smoke weed in bars and restaurants any more than you're allowed to smoke cigarettes in them. And smoking cigarettes outdoors in public is legal; it's much more stigmatized now than it was, but it's still legal. So the train of thought is ... basically not at all related to what's happening with weed.

Why has no one pointed out the fact that looking forward to smoking marijuana after a day of working with kids could actually help them be more patient!

No, we don’t have to deal with it. It stinks. Btw, people who smoke it also stink. We gag when you get in the elevator with us or stand behind us in line at the grocery store.

YES! It's such an offensive stench...

Yep. Legal weed is going nowhere no matter how many old ninnies whine and complain about it. Deal with it, indeed.

Marijuana is much more potent today than it was 20 years ago. Research is coalescing towards showing that a large portion of violent and anti social behavior, particularly in boys, is the result of marijuana usage.

More potent = smoke less

That’s a good thing. No there is zero scientific evidence that a “large part of violent and anti social behavior” is due to cannabis. So desperate to find something bad about cannabis!

Because people who are high are really careful about measuring their dosage while they smoke?

Cannabis users simply stop smoking once they feel the desired effect. Similar to how a person can decide to stop drinking if they don’t want to feel drunk.

Smoking a joint is a relaxing experience and you can still make decisions and be in control of your actions.

It’s like reefer madness in DCUM!

Sounds awesome.

“People who use marijuana are more likely to develop temporary psychosis (not knowing what is real, hallucinations, and paranoia) and long-lasting mental disorders, including schizophrenia (a type of mental illness where people might see or hear things that are not really there).2 The association between marijuana and schizophrenia is stronger in people who start using marijuana at an earlier age and use marijuana more frequently. Marijuana use has also been linked to depression; social anxiety; and thoughts of suicide, suicide attempts, and suicide.”
