I'm one of the PP's who liked this house, I have absolutely zero vested interest in the home. Zero. I'm not in the market for a home, I don't even live locally anymore - but I still follow RE trends in the area because I spent most of my life between Silver Spring and Bethesda and find DC area real estate interesting. I also find it fascinating that on a forum dedicated to all things real estate, the minute someone posts a link to a home they are automatically called out as either the owner or the agent. I would venture to guess that 9 times out of 10, it is just a person like me who is just interested in real estate trends and finds looking at homes as something fun to do.

You're all ridiculous and dramatic. This is a vast improvement over what it used to be. And those insane number of beams are easily removed. House-Hate is a sport on this forum.

PS - it will go fast. For over ask.

Sure, Jan.

Hey Marcia....it's pending already

When I saw the thread title I thought we were getting a real farmhouse.

Oh well. I'm intrigued by these "farmhouse" that loom nothing like any farmhouse ever did. As it is, it's reasonably attractive even though the floor plan is weird.

And the mismatch flooring is terrible.

This is a ridiculous comment. Do you think a Sub Zero fridge and a Wolf cooktop are cheap? I don’t care for the floors, but some people like tile in the kitchen.

Please stop. I live a couple streets away.

+1 you’re leading them to a torturous death in a strange place instead of a quick snap in the trap.

And it is always the people with 1980s taste who do this!

Wow, I was expecting it to be horrible from the posts here. I think it's charming, and I'm not a farmhouse person. I think the house still has a lot of character, but agree, the kitchen and flooring are unfortunate.

I have no idea about the market in SS or what it will go for. I do love old houses, grew up in one, have always bought them and hate to see this happen. Poor old house.

I completely agree with you, really awful reno. I would not have guessed this was a historic house. But there are plenty of buyers who remain into the HGTV farmhouse style.

Maybe, but wouldn't those buyers just go for a new build?

A new build would be more.
