Grew up in a family where both German and Swedish were spoken.

I find one of them delightful, and I’m sorry, but the other one just sounds awful.

I find the Vietnamese language very harsh on the ears. Maybe not ugly but not pleasant sounding.

What I don't like about French is that there are a lot of homophones. The words all sound the same.

I agree that German is the worst (and I've been to Germany many times). It's just so abrasive and makes everyone sound angry all the time.

I thought Icelandic was really cool. Also agree with Gaelic. If you get into the hardcore Irish countryside, the residents could scream "I am calling about your vehicle's extended warranty" over and over and I'd listen happily

The most beautifully fascinating and also harshest sounding language is Chechen:



That and some of those languages from Dagestan, like Avar and Lezgin. I don’t know if ugly is the word, but harsh sounding
