Of course you would. That is the point. They aren't "dems" but have been labeled as such.
I think we all need to move towards a middle we can live withâŚ.

They did for gay marriage.
And again: no one tried. Donât expect the people in power to be exempt from criticism when they choose not to exercise that power.

I would have him order the Justice Department to open criminal investigations into each case in which a woman has been denied care since Roe v. Wade in direct contradiction of the instructions of the federal government that lifesaving care must still be provided. Hospitals claim theyâre afraid to perform abortion because theyâre afraid of the states, let them weigh that against their legal vulnerability to federal charges.
I would have had him say more than one sentence about abortion during the state of the union.
I would have had him propose legislation in the lame duck session to codify Roe and out every one of these âmoderate republicansâ on record ahead of their reelection.
I would have had him order every federal
agency to provide a risk-mitigation plan for federal employees who might find themselves ordered to work in states where they cannot access healthcare.
Thatâs the short list.
Good list!
The House did pass a law codifying Roe but it had nowhere to go in the Senate.
It went further than codifying Roe. And Schumer still never brought it to the floor for a vote, which again, would have put all of these âkavanaugh lied to meâ boo-hooers on the record.
Biden is a better candidate that Trump for women, but he takes the support of women for granted, while not delivering for them even in ways that are within his powers. That should scare him, especially if someone does stake a moderate (codify Roe) position.
How exactly did it go further than codifying Roe? Roe, not Casey. Roe. Be specific.
