This is the best answer. It's a ridiculous notion that a boyfriend would get a gift for a short-term girlfriend who has a baby with another man, but it's the most accurate answer.

Women, why are you so dumb? Especially those in long term relationships. Tired of not getting anything even on my birthday. I get one gift a year. Unfortunately, it’s affecting our relationship and now I’m contemplating walking away. Over it!!

I was told in another thread that my boyfriend of 3+ years, who lives with me and my child doesn't owe me even a Happy Mother's Day...so based on this, I believe getting a GF of 7 months a gift is extremely overboard according to DCUM.

My opinion is that you should at least wish her a Happy Mother's Day.

No get your real mother something for Mother's Day. You ain't got no kids by your girlfriend and y'all ain't been dating but for two and a half or 3 months she shouldn't even be expecting nothing for Mother's Day. There's no reason why she should be even getting mad for not receiving the gift on Mother's Day if y'all do not have children together. The entitlement is real. If you get us something cool but if you don't that's cool too.

I would do something like offer to take her and kid out to a park and pay for lunch/dinner. If you're living together, make sure kid is doing something for mom. It's not your kid so technically you don't have to, but it will definitely earn you points if you do! Even just acknowledging she's an amazing mom, she might not get it from anyone else.0

OP, it all depends on how you feel about her. Is she a 1-2 times a week sex partner, or is she a woman who you love and consider your soul mate and see yourself marrying? After seven months of dating, she could be either. If she is important to you, get her a gift, card, and whatever else you want, take her to brunch, do the whole Mothers Day experience, and tell her that one of the reasons you love her is that you admire that she is such a fantastic mother. There is no downside and it will bring you closer together. But if your relationship is casual or semi-casual, just give her a casual "Happy Mothers' Day" in the same way you would say Happy New Year to everyone you see for the first few days of January.

If you respect her parenting and think she is a good mom then Mothers Day (and any day!) is the time to tell her. All men had mothers. They appreciate when a woman is a good one, in my experience anyway.

What the over analyzing? Is there a problem with the OP buying her a flower and saying, "just want to recognize it's a day for ALL moms"? When you are dating a single mom, her being a mom is part of the package.
