We invested in a bunch of Disney DVDs. I really don't like the menu system in netflix that displays other shows. Once you finish a show it drops off the menu, almost trying to force you into a new show, encouraging endless screen time.

I'm shocked by so many people recommending this show. I let my kid watch one episode and it had a ton of different shot angles/cuts, so it felt pretty hectic, and had a lot of peril (animals on an iceberg being threatened by other animals in the water). Not at all what I want my kids watching at 4 and 6.

On Netflix - Puffin Rock, Creature Cases, Octonauts.

Or download the free PBS Kids app and every one of those shows is great, except Pinkalicious - that one is bit whiny.

Agree with this, but Octonauts is the family’s all-time favorite.

Anonymous wrote:Hilda is legit good. The graphic novels are also excellent. I don’t mind watching Emily’s Wonder Lab and Puffin Rock (though that’s preschool age). I keep trying to get my 8 year old to watch Kipo and the Wonderbeasts and She-Ra, but she’s not interested (yet!).

+1. My 8 y/o DD LOVED Hilda in first grade. It is legit good along with Avatar. Also can’t wait to watch She-Ra with her, but she’s also not interested yet.

I love Chip and Potato! That cartoon reminds me of the late 90s and the early 2000s!

Kid likes cooking shows which is great because I like those too (like Chef Show) but there is cursing in some episodes so I have to be on my game with mute.

I recommended Brainchild and Avatar above for Netflix.

On Amazon Prime my DD9 recently watched and loved Just Add Magic. My DD also likes cooking shows...she likes Sugar Rush and Zumbo's Just Desserts (I think these are both Netflix). And Nailed It is funny!

For the 5 yo, Bluey of course !!! (DH and I LOVE it too.) Available on Disney+. My DD4 also likes animal documentaries on Disney +. On Netflix -- Storybots (I like this one a lot.) And Octonauts, Emily's Wonder Lab, and Puffin Rock. And lots of the PBS Kids shows are good.

Hilda is great but def not for the younger ones. 8 should be ok.
