Our HHI is a bit higher and I cannot imagine EVER spending this on tickets. I took a big gulp a few years ago to get 2 Hamilton tickets (at a discount) $500. I thought that was insane. I don't value passive entertainment enough to spend more. I do value my ski home, getting a beach home, and renovating my primary home. I'm also willing to spend obscene amounts of money on vacations, so I value that.

+1 We did same. Given the current state of the team, so very worth it in hindsight.

Sometimes people pay for things only on credit and don't think about what it will take to pay it back.

Yikes. No concert is worth that much IMO. I balk at shows in the $150-$300 range but I will pay it. And I still wonder if I overspent, no matter how good it was!

Sounds like cope. There are plenty of people who have enough money that they wouldn't notice it gone, but would definitely enjoy making a lasting memory with their DC.

HHI is about $1M. I just can't. I know we can afford it. But I just can't pull the trigger. Add in flights or other transportation costs, hotel, food, merch and you're easily looking at a $3-5K 3 hr experience.

They were posted at these prices 24 hours after ticket sales. They were never lower.

Not related.. but wanted to share.. We are going to Vienna for summer vacation.. they have an incredible deal at Vienna Opera house, where adults pay full price for the tickets , depending of seating places. However, kids under 16 pay only 15 euro regardless of the seating type. Obviously for a teenager not as exciting as Taylor Swift.. but was a bucket list item for us and the cheap tickets for kids means we can go together as a family.

I mean, we COULD pay that. But we never would. We just paid $400/ticket for another artist, though, for the farewell tour. We've never paid those prices before.

I don't understand it at all. I remember when a concert ticket was not a major expense, no matter who you went to see. Even before I had kids I couldn't have afforded that ticket.
