42 year old mom of boys here. I can’t stand Taylor Swift’s music and neither can my kids. But I have no issue if people (moms or teens or whomever) want to get dressed up and post and share their glee. I’ve seen some cute outfits.

My daughter (17) wants me to go with her Mother’s Day. Of course we’re dressing up. It will be a memory to cherish.

At least two neighborhood moms are going with their daughters and I'm looking forward to the pictures. Even better if they dress up fancy because you know they had fun planning and picking outfits, doing hair, nails, etc.

Saw at least 5 from Tampa. Every one was a mother-daughter group thing. I was a little envious because my kid is into niche electronic music and has zero interest in going to concerts with me. It looked fun. Zero issue with folks posting about this and I’m neither a prolific social media poster nor a Swifty.

Oh no I haven’t seen any of this but I think it’s great and so much fun!

I fixed it for you. You don’t have a lot of friends because you are so judgmental and think adults can’t do fun things. Who says they are getting drunk or are “pretending they are young.” Do you only go to orchestral concerts?

Posting that you snagged (or paid $1k) for the one of the most talked about events in your peer circle is honestly one of the most harmless uses of social media. Of course the people who post a lot AND are going to T.Swift are going to post about it.

I'm going to Madonna in September. I don't post a ton, but occasionally through the year, mostly my kids. I will most likely put up a group picture of me and my friends (40-50 aged) dressed up like some version of 80s Madonna even though 1/2 of us are frumpy moms now. Why? Because it's fun!!!

Do you say that as someone who doesn't get the need/desire/benefit of sharing ANYTHING on social media? Because sharing a pic of yourself all cleaned up and fancy and doing something fun/out of the usual actually seems like a perfectly reasonable use of social media to me.

+1. When women support a fandom and spend a couple hundred on merchandise or $1000 on concert tickets, she's wasting money. When men spend 10x that on season tickets and spend every weekend glued to the tv for multiple sports, they're considered perfectly normal. And don't even think of putting up a poster, even though your basement might have team flags decorating it.
