Lol their math workbooks are consumables - they are sent home with the kids when they're finished.

What books?

Exactly. Every try getting an actual book for your kid? You’d have better luck getting an audience with the Pope.

This has the potential to be an incredible learning experience for your kids, OP!! As long as they are at your local school(s), just unenroll, go abroad and live it up, and reenroll when you're back. If you're worried about keeping them caught up, request their math books and bring some good books along with you for them to read. In many countries around the world with far better education systems than the US, this opportunity would be considered a far better alternative to sitting at a desk all day.

If you miss 15 consecutive days of school you have to withdraw and I think maybe even repeat a grade. But I think you can probably work something out with your local school where they will accept school done in your temporary residence and hold a place in your children's current class/es for them when they return. Good luck and hope you are going some place great.

Of course you don’t have to repeat a grade. Why would you have to repeat a grade? OP will have to follow the school requirements of her new jurisdiction and either send the kids to school or homeschool there, however they do it. And then that time will be counted, just like anyone who moves away and comes back.

They are making stuff up.
