LOLL The Oakland campus is deliberately next to Silicon Valley - how on earth would that not be a complete asset in anyone's world? You can hate on Northeastern for the hell of it all you want, but they absolutely know what they are doing, and do it well. They were one of the first successful cooperative education programs in the nation, and they have been at it forever. Their CS and Engineering programs are outstanding, and existed before some of these universities were in existence. If you are going to hate on some place, at least know what you are saying.

This! Also, only your child can tell you what type of campus he/she prefers. My child didn’t like the Northeastern city campus but others love that.
Brandeis is a great school and it’s smaller than Northeastern so more likely to get individual attention. Benefits of Northeastern are the coop (real world work experience) and that it’s in Boston (more internship/work opportunities?) but motivated kids will find good internships anywhere.
It’s about knowing your child and what type of environment would set them up for success.

All appear to be good options. My senior is currently deciding between Northeastern (Oakland/London first year) and Pitt for computer science. He loved GW when we toured, but did not apply. He had already gotten into Pitt when the RD deadline for GW came and he thought Pitt was a better CS option. Just one 18 year old’s opinion based on rankings and related information. He is happy with the London piece but trying to learn more about Oakland.
On Northeastern Oakland, the campus looks very nice. Dorms and academic buildings look great. I also was impressed with how they are structuring the CS program. The intro classes will be much smaller in Oakland. NE said they had hired faculty from the Bay Area to bring them to Boston (before they had the Oakland campus). At least one prof ended up staying in Oakland instead of moving to Boston as planned.
In some ways it is like starting at a SLAC and then having the benefits of a large school when students go to Boston. My son’s issue is that he wants an urban campus, so the lush, beautiful Oakland campus may not be for him. I did read that there are shuttles and public buses that can take you to a BART station. They also have scheduled trips to Lake Tahoe, Monterey Bay and to downtown SF.

My understanding is that the faculty will be mostly continuing Mills College faculty and newly hired people out there. I think some Boston people may come out for a semester or a year as visiting faculty but I don't think many Boston professors will be planning a permanent move out west.

These programs are all so different. I can only offer that went to GW for CS and had a great time. I loved living in DC and got a good education.

If OP actually had an Oakland offer, OP would not be asking here. There are closed groups that verify new members and reveal current members, so OP must be having a hard time. If you actually have an account/offer, you would ask questions in the closed groups, OP - not DCUM.
What closed groups are you talking about?
My DC has an offer which includes a semester in Oakland. My understanding is there are closed groups on Facebook to discuss this program. But since I don’t use Facebook, I am not privy to what is discussed there. I did not post this question here on DCUM, but am following because I’m interested to hear how others would assess the offer.

Hi- it’s OP here. Thanks for sharing. We actually went out to Oakland. The mills campus is small and a little run down. It is pretty though. There is nothing that you can walk to at all, but it’s easy to get Ubers. Dc would not want to spend 4 years there but likes the Boston campus enough to be considering the offer.
