They just « repossess » the book.
You just can’t imagine how that makes some of us feel.
Most libraries don’t charge overdue fees anymore, but you do still have to show up to return stuff.

I listen to audiobooks all the time and have been using overdrive to download the audiobooks to my MP3 player. From what I have read about Libby, there is not a way to download to an MP3 player. So this past couple of months I have been checking out a whole bunch of audiobooks from my library and transferring them to my MP3 player.
I listen to audiobooks while washing the car, pressure washing the driveway, doing yard work, etc. I don't want to risk ruining my phone while doing all that wet messy stuff. I would rather risk ruining my $40 MP3 player.
After I learned a couple months ago that Overdrive is going away, I bought a 64 gig SD card for my MP3 player. I have learned that an audiobook seems to take about 1/3 of a gig, so I now have plenty of memory available to download audiobooks.
Your airbuds will work with your phone quite far away. I put on an audiobook and do housework all over the house wearing my earbuds. I'm sometimes in the basement with my phone on the second floor. No issues.
Sometimes my connection seems to go out when I'm in the opposite corner of a one story ranch.
