I didn’t really like the ending. It felt a little too tidy for the rest of the series.
Paul was such a hottie would’ve liked some more shirtless scenes with him!

It is exactly what I have needed in a series and didn't even realize. I laughed a lot but the humor is subtle. I think for me half the laughs were coupled with terrible cringey feelings at how familiar the situations and personalities were. The writers did a good job at keeping the characters actions exactly how someone with their mentality would act so it was a bit deeper than a regular performance. The settings were so well done to match their personalities too. I loved that freaking house but felt cringe at how well the husband's wardrobe and personality matched it. Have mercy on us comfortable modern neutral texture loving people! The billionaire's dialogue and nobody really calling her out was funny. The little girl was hilarious at the end and helped soften the intensity. I am rewatching with DH because there were a lot of long threads woven in and its just nice scenery. I want to know how they got all those crazy crowns!
Yes, it quickly became clear that underneath the comedic and dramatic moments, really deep themes and issues were being explored. From the writing to the acting, really brilliant subtleties and universal themes…ultimately about how peoples’ stories follow them around their whole life and inform their decisions.

I binge watched Beef this weekend. I had a lot of empathy for Danny's character (and Paul and Issac), but could not find one likeable thing about Amy, except at the beginning when she wanted more time with June. I thought that Ashley Park's character could have been better developed. I could not stand Fumi or Naomi and wish they wound up together. Ha! I thought that Paul and Issac had a lot of redeming characteristics. I could not believe when the house was burned down. The past three episodes were hard for me, especially the crows part.

Wouldn't say this is her break out role -- she was a lead in Always Be My Maybe, which was not an amazing movie but a decent rom com that got a lot of press/buzz. And of course her comedy specials are enormously popular.
I do think this is a huge step up for her as an actor though. ABMM was really light, she was playing a version of herself. This show is much darker and her role is very layered and not an easy person. I'm only one episode in but I was impressed. She holds her own with some very strong, more experienced actors.

No, not really. It's really well done and there is way more to it than what it seems in the first episode. Makes you think and delivers a message without being preachy. The actors are excellent. Not a lot of filler either. It's worth a watch.

The character Isaac (David Choe - had to look him up) really made it for me. He is straight comedy. The two leads are fantastic too, but he steals the show - well his lines do.
