PP: 6 is where we ended on count day, when schools historically stop admitting from the waitlist. I think we were probably at 12 when school started but I don’t remember. Mid-August is when we were seeing the biggest jumps.

Did you end up at 6 for DCB near the beginning of the school year, or was it much later? We've seen a little waitlist movement in the right direction but nothing substantial. Figured we'll probably see more in the summer based on past waitlist data.

Lala's is very fun for young kids. Not great once they are 7 or 8 and above, according to my kids who won't go anymore. Still very loving fun staff .. my kids just felt it wasn't geared towards their age group.

Yes, Casa Lala is the private aftercare option at LAMB. It’s excellent, but pricey. I wish Lamb could offer in-house aftercare for all kids, but Casa Lala is a good option.

I do not know a single person leaving because of after care. I feel like the person who posted has a low-ish wait list number and is trying to drive away folks lol.

We've only used Lala for "day off" camps, and those have always been wonderful.

My kid at LAMB (who is in LAMB aftercare) has been actually bugging me to do Lala for aftercare next year since he's jealous of whatever his friends tell him about it.

I mean at this point I'd count myself lucky to have this decision to make! I doubt I will be in the position to choose between the two, but we'll see

I solved the mystery- LAMB gives preference to sibling offered, but DCB give preference for sibling enrolled. So all the siblings at lamb are already at the top of the list but once a sibling enrolls at DCB, the other sibling suddenly jumps the list because they have a preference they didn’t have before.

Pretty sure the LAMB waitlist will move substantially. Waitlisted parents will have no chance for aftercare. I know many elementary kids who are leaving, but are waiting to tell LAMB.

Personally I would go to DCB.

Tons of siblings. Older siblings get in and pull pre-K siblings to the top of the waitlist.


That doesn't fully explain why it moves so much in comparison to LAMB though, does it? I understand that the sibling preference made the poster's number move down from 38 to 55, but why did the waitlist then continue move so much?

Seems like the DCB waitlist moved nearly 50 spots if this poster saw their number eventually go from 55 to 6. People must have been dropping off since DCB only made 24 waitlist offers last year according to the historic lottery data.

Oh, wow! Sounds like DCB is a long shot then, even with (what I thought was) a pretty decent waitlist number. We have already seen our number increase (10+ spots!) since results day, so I am not feeling as optimistic as I was at first.
