Amazing clip.
You all know Charles Allen grew up in Alabama and went to public school, right?
Not sure why this matters
More just coincidental than significant.
But an Alabama public school student schooling Rep Boebert says something good about Alabama public schools.
And knowing a lot about schools in both places, I find it amusing that many DCUMers are outraged at the suggestion that Alabama schools might be better than DC schools. Fact is, DCPS is pretty crappy.

The expense higher because DC provides free preschool and low class sizes. It's not going to beautiful school buildings and cushy teacher salaries.
Low class size? Where is that happening? And this is why DCPS is a dumpster fire. Parents come up with a ton of excuses for the low performance in order to justify their continued dumping of the kids into the system. No accountability. Who cares who says it out loud? The truth is that DCPS schools are disgusting - if not for rats, overstuffed classes, lack of support for teachers and students, it could be high school school kids stealing from local stores. The press loves to distract with a story about some random congressman - but the truth is - DCPS is a failure.
DCPS has lower class sizes than most of the suburban districts people flee to. And DCPS serves a very high needs population, which mean it has many Title 1 schools, and Title 1 schools cap classroom sizes, whereas non-Title 1 schools do not. So yes, DCPS has low class sizes relative to other districts. My child has never been in a classroom with more than 20 students. Also never been in a classroom with out a teacher's aid. How many suburban elementary schools is that true of?
How are the Title 1 schools performing?

This is not true at every DCPS title 1 school. I work in a DCPS title 1 middle school and classes definitely have more than 20 students. A lot more.

The are feds, lawyers, teachers, nurses, they are great parents and involved community members. So many of you talking out of your a$$ about DC schools don't live here, don't have kids in the district, and don't actually interact with anyone who works, attends, or graduated from DCPS. You can sit down and be quiet now.

Those things might be true for your school but DC public schools are not “crappy inmate factories.” I’ve been happy with the education my kids have received so far in DCPS.
