Well, the problem is that for a lot of people in America, those values are not afforded to them. Maybe you look at a flag as a symbol of hope for change, but I see a flag as pride of a country the way it is. I am not proud of America. I wish I was, but I'm not.
And you don't need to be depressed about it. America has a long tradition of getting mad at the government and demanding better.
