Most t30 schools fill their class ED. Why would you expect your kid to get in RD?

Where are you getting the idea my student applied RD? My student applied ED1 and was rejected. Not a single acceptance among 8 privates in our city ED (not DC) which is not typical. I think Vandy wasn’t looking to the private schools as much this year for admissions.

This feels like a running theme this year - I can't wait to see everyone's final RD results to get full picture.

My DC got off WL in '21 on May 4, but stayed with their 5/1 commit. That year Vandy only did one round of WL admits on 5/4 for Arts & Sciences. Peabody, I believe took off the WL in two rounds. I can't remember exact number, but it was a very small number. They strung people along, not announcing that they were done with the WL until late May, but never took anybody else off.

They’re using TO as a reason to admit whoever they want. And now it seems scores & gpa take a backseat to what, I don’t know, but for 80k, shouldn’t this process be more transparent?

Rejection, SAT 1490, 4.0 UW, 4.3 W, public, good rigor. Strong AP scores.
