To add to the this, I work in a Muslim country 10 months out of the year, and these are some names of women I know, so not archaic or odd for 2023.

You want an Arab name that doesn’t sound Arab? What did I miss? I lived in the Middle East for a few years and always loved the name Dania, which I have only heard there. Not sure if it’s Arab though. I also like Tamara because it’s common in Israel too and I think it’s nice that there’s a multicultural flavor. You could also use the name noora/noura/Nora as a reference to noor/Nour or if your family is Lebanese or Tunisian maybe find a French name that is commonly used in that country.

I know a person named Aya and she is awesome
I am from turkey and has a male name( without the t marbouta) and enjoyed having a gender neutral name. Now we are naming our daughter Ahsen Vera( bera means the highest level of taqwa).

Ayah means nanny or maid in my language so Aya is too close to that.
