Whichever teachers utilize that room for teaching need to put their heads together and think about:

Who normally sits in that seat for all 7 periods?
Out of those kids, who's most likely to do that?
Who wasn't paying attention during class?
Who seemed distracted with something else in their hands while class was occurring (a good indication would be the student looking up at the teacher and looking down at the stool... frequently... to ensure that the teacher wouldn't see them, but they're fairly obvious and not hiding that they're doing something other than listening).

Unless it's a classroom that's isn't used for general teaching every day, this should be pretty easy to figure out.
Whether they can prove it or not is a different story, but this at least narrows down the list, so you can keep an eye on those kids.

Yes, it does, but the "large number of Jewish students" doesn't negate the fact that the vast majority of students aren't Jewish, and that many are anti-Semitic. When I went to Whitman, it wasn't uncommon for Jewish and Muslim girls to be called names by white boys.

Whitman: the place where everyone would be a Republican if Republicans supported abortion and gay rights.

I vaguely recall antisemitism pre-dating the existence of Israel or its occupation of lands. Maybe, I don't know, the Holocaust. The inquisition. Innumerable pogroms through Europe over the centuries. I could go on.

Kind of hard to blame things that happened centuries ago on Israel, no?

What's happening now is nothing more than a very long and consistent trend through history, worsened when things (the economy and more) are going poorly in society.

This has to be the most bizarre question about race I've seen in a while. Are you saying that you understand why there is racism against Black, Hispanic, Asian people and others but not people of the Jewish faith?

I'm with you. We are in the Whitman district. There's always been a strong Jewish presence here. It's nothing new. Everyone grows up with Jewish friends, classmates, colleagues and families. There's never been any significant issues. I also think something from "outside" has impacted a few kids. Maybe it's TikTok. Maybe it's how Kanye West and Kyrie Irving have normalized anti-semitism. Maybe it's some idiots trying to be edgy. Don't know. It's weird. If I were to guess, it's a couple of maladjusted kids who know a swastika is going to make an impact and this is how they feel alive and powerful.

Well at least you aren't trying to hide your own bias. The magnet program is nowhere near that Asian, even with efforts to make enrollment more subjective/random, which makes it less Asian than if it were basd on test scores.

All that proves is people who spend money on test prep get higher scores. Using local norms is a best practice for gifted education and ensures that all gifted children get equal opportunities not just those in wealthy areas.

There were similar antisemitic drawings at the local elementary school years ago but it was treated as nothing and wasn't publicized. I think it is great the county is taking a stand and making it clear this is unacceptable. Hopefully they will do this for anti-Asian hate at some point.

There is something really odd going on. I am in a different bethesda cluster, and there was a swastika found at our ES this week, and two found at our MS a couple of weeks ago. We have a very large Jewish population at our school and I’ve never seen anything but total acceptance, at least at the ES level. We’ve been in these schools for a decade and this never happened even once. I feel like there must be some internet source feeding this or some other external factor I am missing.
