Why are you so defensive? I have two daughters so I certainly don’t have an ax to grind with Prep. The rising 9th grader I know who was recently admitted to Prep seems to be on the autism spectrum (the high-functioning side). My question is sincere. Does Prep have a program like SJC’s Benilde program for students with learning differences?

No. It isn’t. My neighbor’s DD did not get into GC.

This is fake news. They offer more ap classes then either GP or SA. The IB program is world renowned. It is objectively a much much better school the GP and competitive to St. Alban's.

I have an all A’s URM who is a very talented athlete in a sport valued over there and takes mostly honors courses, that was waitlisted for 9th. We were fortunate to have offers from schools we likely would have chosen over SAES regardless though.
I assumed admissions was very competitive there. Maybe they met their quota of this particular URM or we could have needed too much aid I guess.
I did like the school though and admissions were very friendly.


Exactly. You ar not alone. This happens to almost everyone. There are no true "safety schools" in the DC Area.

Is not necessarily about "level of student" as she is talking bout the scholars program (competitive), but because Olney's population density is nothing like NW dC or the very close in suburbs, there are fewer applicants. This is not so however with the scholarships.

There really are none. It's about supply and demand. Obviously schools in the city limits are getting the most applicants so suburban schools have more flexibility. However, post covid do not count on anything.

Apply to AT LEAST five schools.
