She was literally crying when she was telling me how terrible Oakridge is. Rampant bullying. No discipline. Principal who doesn’t care that her child was being bullied. Children watching porn on bus with iPad. She said so much more but that’s what I remember.

I’m not debating the accuracy of their posts I’m just literally saying: I have no idea what the alleged issues are. I have many parent friends at the school, multiple kids at the school, attend and volunteer at pretty much every event parents can attend, and I have no issues with the principal or understanding of why others do. We are having a great experience at Oakridge, and this neighborhood is awesome.
I’m very happy to hear this, and I’m not surprised. I think with this principal things are fine until they aren’t, and then they *really* are not fine.
Not to be all doom and gloom, but have you ever asked your child if they have gotten yelled at? Or if they have always had a teacher in the room? You can also ask if they have been told that they shouldn’t tell their parents things that happen at school because that’s “gossip.”
Kids are encouraged not to tell their parents what happened at school?! That is a VERY slippery slope, potentially leading kids to tolerate abusive behavior.

What is the point of your post? You will move if an anonymous message board validates what you have heard anecdotally? Then you had best get a short stay apartment and never unpack.
I would have loved to have known about tbe principal before my kids started. I would have put my kids in an option school or, at a minimum, known what I was getting into.

Which poster are you referring to?
Maybe she’s referring to the principal?

Her moods change on a whim, she has made multiple teachers cry, she is an incredibly poor communicator and has burned through 3 assistant principals in 10 years. She has a clique of her favorite teachers who get preferential treatment (none of who are traditional classroom teachers) Multiple great teachers have left over the years and the good ones who stay are able to block her out. God bless them but I couldn’t do that.
I count 4 APs.
The “clique” is also known as The Disciples.
Not uncommon for APs to transition to other jobs. Ours left to become principal.
None of the 4 have become principals. 3 left for lateral moves.
One actually went back into the classroom. And this year’s left for another school in the MIDDLE OF THE YEAR. A bs explanation was given to staff and no explanation given to parents.
What was the explanation given to staff?
