Not true. DS is at NU and I write the checks. More like $81K. Housing is mandatory for two years but then the options are much cheaper off campus (or can be). The last 20k of those costs are housing and mandatory meal plan. Nobody buys books much anymore.
That may be for you and locked in. But the link above clearly says that Tuition and Fees for 2023-24 is $66,288 and Liiving expenses estimated at $24,336 which adds up to $90,624.

USC was my kid's #1 choice.
I'm grateful USC is generous with National Merit Finalist scholarship. It turned out about same as UVA instate.
