OP, next time she goes on about it stop her and say. “This situation sounds frustrating. Are you asking for feedback or do you just want to vent?” And if she just wants to vent that’s the bigger issue. This isn’t a friendship. I’ve had friends who just want to use me to complain and it took a massive toll on me mentally.

Parenting is a long road. Where your kids are at this moment is not where they will be in ten years. Be patient, grasshopper.

People like this are far more vested in their feelings than their kids’ needs. I feel sorry for them but have a hard time keeping my mouth shut around them. Irritating.

This was very serious and no, OP is in denial of how her child behaves and wants to criticize someone else. Little kids need consequences to understand their behavior. This is why so many kids are acting up as teens now.
