Don’t do this. I travel a ton and have received a few as gifts. FWIW, the Smythson ones seem the best. I don’t use any of them. You have to take them out for customs and check in and now to scan them anywhere. It’s just one more step and is a total pain. I think they were useful even 40 years ago when passport covers were basically thicker paper and you had paper boarding passes, but now they are just useless

I just don’t find them functional. I use a zip around wallet with multiple compartments to hold all the papers. I don’t need a designer leather folder that crap will fall out of.

Yes this seems way more functional than the leather one posted, because it's lighter and zips up (so nothing falls out). We are doing our first trip internationally next year as a family of 4 and I think I may need this! Since I know I will be organizing the kids (DH has other charms).

I have something similar that I use for our family of 5. It's cheap and easy, and is a great help for organizing the adult/kids passports. I don't know that this is a wedding gift, though.

I don't understand why people deviate from the registry (or cash). I had a few friends get gifts that weren't on registry. I did not use (or like) any of them. I said thank you, of course, but we put the gifts in a closet. I got some art - that wasn't my style - and other knick knacks. AT least with the registry stuff, I could return and get credit at the store to buy a big ticket item if I changed my item. We also got a lot of cash gifts, which were great.

Yeah I also can't imagine using this. I don't want an extra step of removing a cover while also juggling my carry on, my phone with my boarding pass etc.

I could see using a bigger "family wallet" type thing that carries the whole family's passports and other things we may need through the airport when I travel with my young kids. But if it's just a couple, I wouldn't need this.

I just can't imagine spending $500+ on something I wasn't positive would be loved on receipt.

I have a travel pouch where I store all five passports for the family but not individual cases. I cannot imagine being excited about this as a wedding gift.

I don’t get the point of a passport cover. I travel a lot and my passport is in great shape. I bring my wallet with my credit cards, so don’t need something with slots in it. Boarding pass is often on my phone now or just printed at home. In most countries, my passport gets left in the safe so I don’t lug it around with me.
