Because it is the ultimate movie about hope.

And the dialog is well written with many quotable lines...
And of course Morgan Freeman's narration... in that lullaby tone...

Yes. I'd say this is my #1 for movies that suck me in if I'm surfing and happen upon it.

Many of the ones listed here definitely, like Shawshank (yes it is a movie about hope!), Vinny, Dead Poets, A Few Good Men, Princess Bride. Someone also mentioned Amelie and that, along with Chocolat, is not something I would have thought of but definitely would watch over and over.

I'll add
Speed
Twister
OG Top Gun
Jurassic Park (og trilogy)
Star Wars (og triology)
The Fifth Element
Indiana Jones (og triology)
Back to the Future

I absolutely loved Dead Poet's Society as a teen and young adult. I recently re-watched it, and it didn't really hold up. Part of it might have been seeing Red Foreman as a dick rather than a lovable curmudgeon! Knox's pursuit of the girl is also troublesome to me in a way that it wasn't back in the day. She has a boyfriend, and has shown no signs of interest. Leave her alone.

It has such a satisfying ending. The chemistry between Robbins and Freeman felt so genuine too.
