8th last year and 9th this year. The admissions process went well too I thought both times. This year we are accepting at a different top 10 DMV area school so f em. We don’t have time to keep playing these waitlisting games.

Your declining a spot does not mean the waitlist is going to move at all.
That can be correct, but it also depends on how many applied and are on waitlist. A few years ago, we declined a spot at SAES and within hours a friend’s child was admitted off the waitlist, so our guess was that they didn’t have that many more applicants they felt were good fits (so accepted or waitlisted) than spots.
Likely a coincidence.

Nah…just like all other schools, there more acceptances than available spots; you declining does not mean they will go to the wait pool.
