You sound delusional. Family guns were used. He used the alibi of not being at the property to go visit his mom, which was unusual, not to mention she has dementia and would definitely have been in bed that late at night. But then the video they found on Paul’s phone puts him at the scene minutes before they were killed. It was a large property where his wife was reportedly not living anymore. He had asked her to meet her there and she had told family/friends that she thought that was odd. So you think he invited her there, Paul was there (he also didn’t live there) and somehow someone unrelated to the family knew that and went there to kill them in the minutes Alex just so happen to go see his mom who was likely already in bed? And not only did they show up, but they showed up without guns and had to go find the family guns first and then kill them?

THIS. I'm not convinced a jury will convict him, but in my mind, there is no doubt about his guilt. I think there's a slight possibility he hired a hitman, but I don't see how anyone else could have committed these murders given the details of the case.

The documentary said the wife had recently hired a forensic accountant and was talking to divorced lawyers. She either knew or was close to knowing that he had bilked his clients and law firm out of millions. I think it’s possible that he didn’t expect Paul to be there and wasn’t planning on killing him. He was a drug addict, financially ruined and about to be socially ruined when everyone found out about his embezzlement. He was desperate and desperate people do crazy things.

I’m not convinced the family had anything to do with Gloria, the housekeeper’s death.

All this leads to review is the fact that:

8) dad stole millions from housekeepers kids who lived in a trailer and were evicted after her death.
9) you gay man was murdered on the road, again mysterious circumstances possible link to one living brother.
10) cops “overlook/bungle” all of the above because the family is so powerful.
Add in
11) a dog named Bubba and a nameless but heroic chicken.
12) People named Buster, Handsome (not handsome), Paw Paw, Mags, Poppa T, Ro Ro etc….
13) finally, dad (who is a lawyer) decides to take the stand in his trial and it is televised.

The fact that I’m not sure if I left anything out should give you an indication of why this is garnering so much attention. You might not want to see a guy set himself on fire accidentally on purpose but if he does, you’re gonna slow down and take a look. It’s rare for one person at this level to make such a complete mess of their pretty darn good life. The disappointment is that we have yet to see a mistress or moonshine. It also kind of validates everything that northerners secretly think these small, Southern towns are like.
