I think that it’s important to note that you shouldn’t confuse Mink and the things she says with things being supported by Democrats, in general. It’s as bad as confusing the nuttiest thoughts of random Trump supporters with the ideals of all Republicans. She’s doesn’t represent Democrats, she represents a small subset of us. Most of us are a little more pragmatic…these are issues that we can with on/against together.
She represents Montgomery County Council District 5.

DUI is a pretextual stop.
Stopping a car that smells like cannabis is pretextual stop. And it's one that almost always results in illegal gun confiscation.
A sheriff arrested Timothy McVeigh an hour or so after the Oklahoma City bombing because of a pretextual stop. McVeigh's car didn't have a license plate.
They can be abused.
But they can also be a great tool for keeping the community safe.
It's stupid to ban them outright.
Can you provide data to back this up? I'd be willing to venture that smelling cannabis is on its way to becoming a meaningless pretextual stop given the medical cannabis availability and the soon to be recreational availability. MoCo might still have more dispensaries than any other county in the state. The vast majority of these people are not folks with illegal guns.

but they are all progressives and this is what other progressives are doing. One day the criminal element and enablers will outnumber people who pay property tax hereAnonymous wrote:I dont think this one had the votes even normally, but especially now with crime and particularly vehicle crime up.

mink also is an anti Israel zealotAnonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I like Mink but not Jawando. I purposefully didn’t vote for Barrie because she aligned herself with Jawando. I’m hoping Mink can separate herself from him.
Mink has referred to police officers as "thugs" and "goons" on her social media. That makes her MORE outspoken against police than even Jawando. I don't see how she can separate herself from him.
