Off topic, but how about their women's basketball team!!! We went to Bloomington this weekend and watched them beat the hell out of the Purdue team to clinch the Big 10 regular season title. Sold out Assembly Hall!

My son plays in the pep band. It’s fantastic.

Oh how wonderful! He must have the best time. I envy the fun the pep band and Marching 100 seemed to have. Also, they made life long friends in those two groups!

Yes, he would have been fine anyway, but the instant friend group really sped along his adapting to college life. Probably the only down side is that, because he was spending so much time at band practice the first week or two on campus, he never got to know the other kids on his dorm floor all that well.

Yup - pursuing a dual degree in composition through Jacobs and computer science through Luddy. He seems to be having a great freshman year, and we're awfully proud of him.

Totally anecdotal but I work with IU and Miami grads in DC. I don't work with JMU grads but I do know people who have their kids there now. I would think that all of them being state schools have similar career outcomes though Kelly grads are in a completely different category.

IU is very well respected nationally. I think we’ll worth the price difference. And beautiful campus to boot.

DP. I don't know anything about JMU, but I know business school grads from both Miami and IU. I'd say the outcomes are fairly similar in terms of what I can tell about their income and lifestyles except that the Miami grads I know are pretty localized to the Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland areas whereas the IU grads are all over the place. But this is just anecdotal - the Miami business students I met when I was there pretty much all came from in-state whereas (when I was in law school) the IU business students I met were more likely to be from out of state in the first place. Also, I was at those places 30 years ago.

IU is worth it. 100%

Miami is amazing too they have a set amount given for OOS. Did she not qualify for that? They are very different schools. One is giant and with amazing sports. The other is much smaller state school in a very small town with not so great sports.
