Interesting. I often feel spooked in the woods. I've been to MDI like a dozen times and have never had this feeling on any trail there.

I would definitely go to Jerome again! Didn't stop. Just drove thru.

Maybe it's creepy because there is literally just two ways out?

I’ll vote for Jerome too. There’s just kind of a depressing vibe there. We have been 3-4 times and always feels the same. We actually did a ghost tour there a few months ago and it was the worst ghost tour we’d ever done, but again we all felt a depressed energy.

I think Charleston is spooky at night.

Also Chichen Itza in Mexico, very creepy.

Ok, this is weird. I'm casting a 3rd vote for Jerome, AZ. We only stopped there because it's DH's first name, and we left soon after because we were so creeped out. He wouldn't even have his picture taken next to the "Jerome" sign. He just said, "let's get the hell out of here."

I didn't feel this vibe at all when I was there. Now you all are making me want to go back!

Were we on the same road-trip, in the same car? Stopped on the way to Nola, driving straight through on the way to Mardi Gras, of all of the sights I saw that week, Miss. gas station pee break at 4am was by far the strangest and otherworldly experience. Many, many lifetimes ago it still sticks with me.

Would either PP please elaborate? Like eerie presence, overwhelming sadness, or something else?

- Washington State, near North Cascades NP - towns of Marblemount, Rockport, Concrete. Seemed very Hills Have Eyes meets the PNW
- Salton Sea area of California
- Areas near Stanley, Idaho. Not Stanley itself but the surrounding area feels so remote, I swear I felt more off the grid here than places I've been in Alaska.

The Dunhill Hotel in Charlotte NC. Spent 2 nights there on a work trip sleeping with the lights on, and I’m not an anxious sort of person. Googled it later and found all this stuff online about how it has a reputation for being “haunted.” Eeek.
