it hasnt even been cold
we dont even take hot showers wtf.

Awe, the frustration that "build back better" and company are causing. Suck it up buttercup, you most likely voted for this if you're on this board. Wasn't it Obama who said utility bills would sky rocket for things to change, oh well.
Still waiting for OP to come back with their Sq Ft before we decide its all evil government fault. You buy a 5000 sq ft house you need to understand it will cost a LOT to heat and condition. It should not be inexpensive to do so.

Anonymous wrote:If your gas usage (usage, not your bill amount) has actually more than doubled since installing new windows and furnace/water, then you've got a problem. It's a leak or a billing problem. Or you got some really bad windows and and a terrible furnace installation. I know that you said they already checked for leaks, but Wash Gas is pretty incompetent. I've called them for several leaks on my street (where you can clearly smell gas at specific locations) and they come out and say it is fixed (and never is).

Yep, agree with this ... it's more efficient because it's newer even though it's bigger, this is my DS over and over. Always, and I mean always, starting our conversations these days with the rising cost of her housing expenses.

Anonymous wrote:How big is your house? Mine is 2000 sq ft and I just got a gas bill for over $250. House is always at 68. The distribution and supply charges have gone up exponentially from last year, where we had higher usage and lower bills.
You can call them and ask for your meter to be reread and to make sure there isn’t a potential leak. But I can say is that you’re not alone. This has been a common complaint on NextDoor with Washington Gas.

Suck it up Buttercup Republicans are going to make everything go up 30% try again.
What? look who's in office right now? How praytell are you trying to blame republicans for this?
You are all insane, I don’t think gas prices are even up.
