NP here. I know of several people who live in that gerrymandered section near GW that is designated for JH that got transfers for Brooks (when it was Maury). Since oldest got the transfers the younger siblings also got transferred. Then a few years ago new districts were formed (but that section off of Mt Vernon remained for JH) and the siblings' transfers were revoked and the kids had to go to JH. No exceptions. All of those people have since moved to Fairfax.

The only transfers I know of happening are for MVCS and then only if the preferred school had room.

We are very happy at mvcs.

It depends whether it's an admin transfer or a programmatic transfer. The latter are much more likely to be granted.

I can't say, I was not one of the families involved, and although we were casually friendly, I don't know every detail of their circumstances.

+1 I don't even know a family that had one denied. The unspoken sssumption amongst these families is that they are the ones funding the system, they better not be denied.
